Hotel des Arts Saigon made a lasting impression during our previous visit, so when we returned to Ho Chi Minh City in June 2026, it was an easy choice for another stay. Although we had originally booked the entry-level Deluxe Room, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to the Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room upon arrival.
Having now experienced two different room categories, this review focuses on whether the Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room offers a noticeably better stay, while also sharing our latest impressions of one of our favourite luxury hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. Why We Chose Hotel des Arts Saigon Again
Our June 2026 trip to Ho Chi Minh City was a short two-night stop before travelling to another city for an event. It also gave us the opportunity to run a few errands and spend some time with family before continuing our journey.
As an ALL Accor+ Explorer member, I had a Stay Plus voucher that entitled us to one complimentary night's stay when booking at participating Accor hotels. This gave us the flexibility to choose almost any Accor property in Ho Chi Minh City. While we did consider Pullman Saigon Centre, Novotel Saigon Centre and Sofitel Saigon Plaza, Hotel des Arts Saigon quickly became our preferred choice. Having stayed here previously, I already knew the hotel would not disappoint. It offered everything we were looking for—beautifully designed rooms, impeccable service and a luxurious boutique atmosphere—all at a price that I consider very reasonable for the quality of the experience.
We originally booked the entry-level Deluxe Room, as it was more than sufficient for a short stay. However, during check-in, the staff pleasantly surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to the Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room, thanking us for our loyalty as Accor members. Receiving an upgrade while already using a Stay Plus voucher was completely unexpected and made us even more excited for the stay.
Having now experienced both the Deluxe Corner Room and the Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room, I was curious to see whether Hotel des Arts Saigon would once again live up to my expectations. With that in mind, it was time to head upstairs and see what awaited us.
Hotel Location
Hotel des Arts Saigon - MGallery Collection is officially located in District 3, just outside the border of District 1. For travellers wondering whether staying in District 3 is a good idea, I actually think this gives the hotel the best of both worlds—you are close to Ho Chi Minh City's main attractions while enjoying a slightly quieter environment away from the busiest streets.
Several attractions, including Pizza 4P's Hai Ba Trung, Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, Saigon Central Post Office and Saigon Book Street, are within comfortable walking distance. For most other destinations, I would simply take a Grab, which is both affordable and convenient around Ho Chi Minh City.
The immediate area is well served by cafés and restaurants, with Starbucks, Paris Baguette and Cộng Cà Phê all just a short walk away. Despite its central location, the hotel was surprisingly quiet at night, and we felt comfortable walking back after dinner one evening. As with any major city, it is always sensible to stay aware of your surroundings.
Overall, I think Hotel des Arts Saigon offers one of the best locations for first-time visitors. It is close enough to explore the city with ease, yet just far enough from the busiest parts of District 1 to provide a more peaceful stay.
Check-In Experience
We arrived at Hotel des Arts Saigon by Grab at around 7 pm, and from the moment we pulled up, the service reminded me of why I had such fond memories of my previous stay. A member of the hotel staff immediately opened the car door, welcomed us to the hotel and helped us retrieve our luggage before escorting us to the reception desk.
Despite the elegant lobby, the atmosphere was calm and relaxed, with no queue at reception. The check-in process took no more than five minutes. While completing the formalities, the receptionist thanked me for my loyalty as an Accor member before pleasantly informing me that we had been upgraded from our booked Deluxe Room to a Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room. Given that I had already redeemed a Stay Plus voucher for this stay, the complimentary upgrade felt like an unexpected bonus.
The receptionist also explained that our booking did not include breakfast, although we could simply dine at the restaurant and have the charges billed to our room if we decided to do so. As we still had an errand to run that evening, we asked if the hotel could store our luggage after check-in. The staff readily agreed and assured us that it would be delivered to our room while we were out, allowing us to head straight back into the city without any hassle.
Overall, the arrival experience was exactly as I remembered it—professional, efficient and genuinely welcoming. It set a positive tone for the rest of our stay before we had even stepped into the room.
Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room Review
First Impressions
Stepping into the Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room, I immediately felt a sense of familiarity. Having previously stayed in the Deluxe Corner Room, I recognised the same elegant design language that had impressed me during my first visit. The room retained its luxurious boutique feel, with tasteful furnishings, warm lighting and a timeless design that still felt every bit as classy as I remembered.
One of the room's greatest strengths is its open-concept layout. Although the room is not exceptionally large, the clever design makes it feel noticeably more spacious than the actual floor area suggests. From the entrance, the bathtub is immediately visible, creating an airy and luxurious first impression, while the toilet and standing shower are tucked behind separate doors to provide privacy. The king-sized bed sits beside the floor-to-ceiling windows, while the work desk, minibar and Nespresso coffee machine are conveniently positioned nearby. The wardrobe is located beside the entrance, making the overall layout both intuitive and practical.
Bedroom & Sleep Quality
The bedroom was undoubtedly my favourite part of the room. The king-sized bed struck an excellent balance between comfort and support, providing two nights of restful sleep. Combined with the hotel's excellent blackout curtains, the room became almost completely dark once the curtains were drawn. Even during the day, it was difficult to tell whether it was morning or night, making it perfect for travellers looking to catch up on sleep after an early flight or a busy day exploring Ho Chi Minh City.
Being located on a higher floor also gave this room a slightly more premium feel. While the view was mainly of the surrounding city skyline rather than a particular landmark, I still appreciated the elevated perspective. During the day, opening the curtains allowed plenty of natural light into the room, making the elegant interior feel even more inviting.
One aspect worth mentioning is the lighting. The warm ambient lighting contributes greatly to the cosy and intimate atmosphere, which suits the hotel's boutique character. However, there were moments at night when I wished the room were just a little brighter, especially when looking for something. It is a very minor point, but something prospective guests may notice if they prefer brightly lit hotel rooms.
Bathroom
The bathroom follows the same elegant design philosophy as the rest of the room. The open-concept layout creates an impressive sense of space, while still maintaining privacy by placing the toilet and standing shower behind separate doors.
The standing shower offered excellent water pressure throughout our stay, making every shower enjoyable, while the sink provided ample counter space together with all the usual amenities expected from a luxury hotel. Overall, the bathroom was stylish, practical and thoughtfully designed.
Work Desk & In-Room Amenities
Although this was primarily a leisure trip, I found the room equally suitable for getting some work done. The work desk was spacious and paired with a genuinely comfortable chair, making it an enjoyable place to sit for extended periods.
One evening, I made myself a couple of cups of Nespresso coffee, streamed a movie on Apple TV using the hotel's Wi-Fi and simply relaxed at the desk. The internet connection remained fast and stable throughout, with no issues streaming high-definition content.
The room was also well equipped for modern travellers. Universal power sockets were available on both sides of the bed, with another located at the work desk, making it easy to charge multiple devices at the same time. Storage space was more than adequate, with a safe conveniently located inside the wardrobe.
Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room vs Deluxe Corner Room
Having now stayed in both the Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room and the Deluxe Corner Room, I was actually surprised by how similar the overall experience felt.
The layout, furnishings, bathroom, amenities and overall atmosphere were almost identical. In fact, if someone had blindfolded me and placed me inside either room, I doubt I would have been able to tell the difference immediately.
The biggest distinction is the higher floor. Although my previous Deluxe Corner Room benefited from an additional set of windows, I actually preferred the Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room because of its elevated city views and the way the bed faced the windows. It simply felt a little more premium.
That said, I would not hesitate to book either room category again. If the price difference is relatively small, I would recommend choosing the Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room. However, if the Deluxe Corner Room is available at a significantly lower rate, I think it still offers excellent value because the overall experience is remarkably similar.
Room Verdict
The Sky Executive Grand Deluxe Room delivered exactly what I had hoped for. It was elegant, comfortable, thoughtfully designed and a pleasure to spend time in. More importantly, it confirmed that my excellent first impression of Hotel des Arts Saigon was no coincidence.
Even on my second stay, the room remained one of the highlights of the hotel and reinforced why Hotel des Arts Saigon continues to be my favourite Accor hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
Facilities
Although we spent most of our time exploring Ho Chi Minh City during this short two-night stay, Hotel des Arts Saigon offers a thoughtfully curated range of facilities that complement its boutique luxury concept. Rather than focusing on sheer size or an extensive list of amenities, the hotel places greater emphasis on creating elegant spaces where guests can relax and unwind after a day in the city.
During this visit, I did not have the opportunity to use the rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre or spa. However, I had previously experienced the rooftop pool during my first stay, while the fitness centre and spa remain available for guests seeking to maintain their fitness routine or enjoy a relaxing treatment. Although the facilities are not the largest you'll find in Ho Chi Minh City, they are thoughtfully designed and complement the hotel's boutique luxury character perfectly.
Rooftop Swimming Pool
Note: I did not visit the rooftop swimming pool during my June 2026 stay. The comments and pictures below are based on my previous stay at Hotel des Arts Saigon.
One of the highlights of Hotel des Arts Saigon is its rooftop infinity swimming pool, which offers panoramic views across Ho Chi Minh City. Although the weather was unfortunately not on our side during my previous visit, I still enjoyed spending some time around the pool to admire the scenery and take photographs before the approaching thunderstorm forced us indoors.
The pool itself is moderately sized, striking a good balance between relaxation and recreation. It is long enough for guests who wish to swim a few laps, while also providing a comfortable setting for those who simply want to unwind after a day of exploring the city. With a poolside bar just steps away, the rooftop has a distinctly resort-like atmosphere that encourages guests to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.
After leaving the pool, we ordered a couple of mocktails from the nearby rooftop bar and spent some time taking in the city skyline. From here, we could clearly see the Bitexco Financial Tower and even catch a glimpse of Landmark 81 in the distance. Even with dark storm clouds gathering overhead, it was a memorable place to relax and appreciate the skyline from above.
Another unique feature of the rooftop is the glass-floored bridge connecting the hotel with the neighbouring Centec Tower. While I chose to admire it from a distance, my wife ventured across it for a closer look. It is an unusual feature that you do not often find at city hotels, and it adds an interesting touch to the overall rooftop experience when weather conditions permit.
Although we never had the opportunity to enjoy a swim because of the approaching storm, I still came away impressed by the rooftop setting. On a clear day, I can easily imagine this becoming one of the most enjoyable places in the hotel to relax with a drink while overlooking the Ho Chi Minh City skyline.
Fitness Centre
A fitness centre is available on the third floor for guests who wish to maintain their workout routine during their stay. Although I did not have the opportunity to use it during either of my visits, it is a convenient facility for travellers who prefer to exercise without leaving the hotel.
Le Spa des Artistes by L'Apothiquaire
Guests looking to unwind can also visit Le Spa des Artistes by L'Apothiquaire, which is also located on the third floor. While I did not experience the spa during either of my stays, it provides a convenient wellness option for those looking to enjoy a massage or spa treatment without leaving the hotel.

Note: Breakfast was not included during my June 2026 stay. The comments and pictures below are based on my previous breakfast experience at Hotel des Arts Saigon, which remains one of the highlights that shaped my overall impression of the hotel.
Breakfast at Saigon Kitchen Restaurant is, without question, one of the highlights of staying at Hotel des Arts Saigon. Even after returning to the hotel for a second stay, my opinion has not changed. I still consider it one of the best hotel breakfast experiences in Ho Chi Minh City—not only because of the quality and variety of the food, but also because of the exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere.
The restaurant itself is bright, spacious and beautifully designed. Large floor-to-ceiling windows fill the dining room with natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes breakfast feel relaxed rather than rushed. Despite the generous buffet spread, the restaurant never felt crowded or cramped during our visit.
The buffet offers an excellent balance of international favourites and authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Guests will find freshly baked pastries, egg stations, salads, fresh fruits, cheeses and other Western breakfast staples alongside a good selection of local dishes. What impressed me most, however, was the opportunity to sample authentic Vietnamese specialities. During our visit, the live station served Bánh Hỏi, a traditional rice vermicelli dish from southern Vietnam, while classics such as phở were also available. If you are visiting Vietnam for the first time, I highly recommend trying the local dishes rather than sticking solely to the Western options.
The beverage selection is equally impressive. Besides freshly prepared Western coffee, guests can also order traditional Vietnamese coffee in several styles, including black coffee, condensed milk coffee, salted coffee and honey coffee. A selection of loose-leaf teas is also available, including the hotel's house blend, Vietnamese lotus tea and Oolong tea. Fresh coconuts, juices and smoothies provide even more choices, ensuring there is something for every guest.
While the food was excellent, what truly made breakfast memorable was the outstanding service. Throughout our meal, the staff regularly checked in to ensure everything was going well. At one point, a team member approached our table and offered us a refreshing iced beverage specially prepared by the restaurant. Naturally, we couldn't resist trying it, and it turned out to be both unique and delicious.
Later, after noticing fresh coconuts being served around the restaurant, we asked whether we could have one as well. Within moments, they arrived at our table with a smile. As we were preparing to leave, another member of staff stopped by to ask whether I would like one final drink before heading off. Unable to resist, I ordered a traditional Vietnamese coffee, bringing a perfect end to an already memorable breakfast.
Looking back, I honestly remember the warmth of the service just as much as the food itself. Plenty of luxury hotels serve excellent breakfast buffets, but very few leave guests with such fond memories long after the meal has ended. If breakfast is not included in your room rate, I would happily recommend paying the extra cost. In my opinion, it is an experience that perfectly reflects the hospitality and attention to detail that define Hotel des Arts Saigon.
Service
If there is one aspect of Hotel des Arts Saigon that continues to impress me after two stays, it is the consistently exceptional service. While the hotel itself is beautiful and luxurious, it is ultimately the people who make the experience truly memorable.
Although our interactions with the staff were relatively limited during this stay, every encounter reflected the same high standards of hospitality. Every time we arrived at or left the hotel, a member of staff would promptly open the Grab door, welcome us with a smile and assist with our luggage whenever needed. During check-in, the receptionist also proactively offered a late check-out, allowing us to confirm it immediately rather than waiting until our departure day.
Housekeeping maintained the room to an excellent standard each day, ensuring we always returned to a clean and comfortable room after spending time in the city.
What impressed me most was not any single interaction, but the consistency of the service throughout our stay. Every member of staff we encountered displayed the same warmth, professionalism and attention to detail. It is this genuine hospitality that continues to set Hotel des Arts Saigon apart and remains one of the main reasons why I happily returned for a second stay.

Hotel des Arts Saigon is best suited for travellers who appreciate boutique luxury hotels with plenty of character. Rather than focusing on grand public spaces or extensive resort-style facilities, the hotel delivers a more intimate and refined experience through its elegant French-inspired design, beautifully appointed rooms, attentive service and one of the best hotel breakfast experiences in Ho Chi Minh City. Couples, honeymooners and those celebrating a special occasion will likely find the hotel's romantic atmosphere particularly appealing.
