Corner Suite bedroom at Novotel Danang Premier Han River, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Da Nang and the Han River.

For our short trip to Da Nang, Vietnam, we chose Novotel Danang Premier Han River, a tall riverside hotel overlooking the Han River, Da Nang Bay, and the surrounding city.

Having stayed at several Novotel properties, we appreciate the brand's reliable combination of comfortable rooms, professional service, and reasonable prices. For this one-night stay, we experienced a Corner Suite on the 27th floor, enjoyed the 29th-floor Club Lounge, and explored the hotel's facilities and breakfast options.

But is Novotel Danang Premier Han River worth booking, particularly if you want to explore the city rather than stay by the beach? Here's our experience.

Quick Verdict

Novotel Danang Premier Han River is an excellent choice for travellers seeking a comfortable, well-located city hotel at a reasonable price.

  • Convenient Han River location, with cafés nearby and easy access to the airport and city attractions.

  • Spacious Corner Suite with two balconies and panoramic river and bay views.

  • Peaceful 29th-floor Club Lounge with refreshments and breakfast.

  • Attractive gym and outdoor swimming pool.

  • Friendly, professional service and excellent overall value.

  • The interiors feel somewhat dated, although everything was clean and well-maintained.

  • This is a riverside city hotel, not a beachfront resort.

Our verdict: We would happily stay again. The views, location, and consistently good service make this a compelling option for a short Da Nang city break.

Introduction

For this trip, we wanted to stay in Da Nang's city centre rather than at a beachfront resort. Our plan was to explore the city, visit cafés, and enjoy the local food and attractions, so a convenient riverside location made more sense for us.

As Accor Plus Explorer members with ALL Gold status, we usually start our hotel searches in the Accor app. Novotel Danang Premier Han River stood out for its location, height, and potential for panoramic views. We also considered Hilton and Crowne Plaza, but Novotel appeared to offer the best balance of price, facilities, and location. Our positive experiences at other Novotels, including Novotel Saigon Centre, made the decision easier.

Booking Our Stay

We originally booked a Superior Room for 9–11 October 2026, paying VND 4,460,022 for two nights without breakfast—approximately S$120 per night.

Unfortunately, VietJet changed our flight schedule, leaving us able to stay only from 10 to 11 October. Because the reservation was non-refundable, we contacted the hotel to ask whether anything could be done about the unused night.

The hotel offered a practical solution: it would apply VND 2,230,011 from the unused night towards a Corner Suite upgrade quoted at VND 2,250,000 nett. We therefore paid just VND 19,989 (around S$1) more, bringing our total expenditure to VND 4,480,011 for the one night we ultimately stayed.

This was not a normal one-night Corner Suite rate. We had already paid for two nights, and a fresh suite booking through the app could actually have cost less than our total expenditure. However, cancelling and rebooking would have meant forfeiting the original payment. We considered the hotel's proposal a fair compromise and appreciated its flexibility before we had even arrived.

Hotel Location

Novotel Danang Premier Han River sits along the Han River in Da Nang's city centre. For our short visit, the location was one of its biggest strengths.

Our Xanh SM journey from Da Nang International Airport took around 15 minutes, while the return trip took 12 minutes according to the app. Traffic will naturally affect these timings, but the short transfer made our brief stay much easier.

There were also plenty of cafés nearby: Katinat was immediately to the hotel's left, with Starbucks and Phê La to the right. As coffee lovers, we appreciated having several options within easy reach.

We used Xanh SM for most journeys and had no difficulty booking rides from the hotel. Fares were affordable, drivers generally arrived quickly, and places such as Dragon Bridge and Maha Spa Signature were only short drives away.

The riverside promenade also looked inviting for walking or jogging, with generous pedestrian space and views along the water. We spent time around Dragon Bridge one evening and stopped at a nearby Highlands Coffee, although rain meant we eventually took a car back rather than walking.

We would happily stay in this area again. It's particularly convenient for travellers interested in Da Nang's cafés, restaurants, and city attractions. Those planning to spend most of their holiday on the beach, however, may prefer accommodation closer to My Khe Beach.

Check-In Experience

We arrived at the hotel at around 4 pm, after stopping for lunch following our flight. The lobby was spacious, clean, and understated, with the familiar atmosphere of an international business hotel. Several tour buses were picking up and dropping off guests during our stay, so it was clearly a busy property.

A staff member opened our car door, and we headed to reception. There was a short queue, but once we reached the counter, the receptionist requested our booking number and passports, noticed our Corner Suite reservation, and invited us to complete check-in at the 29th-floor Club Lounge instead.

Checking In at the Club Lounge

Staff escorted us to the lifts and arranged for us to reach the lounge, where the team appeared to be expecting us. Rather than standing at a counter, we were invited to take a seat, enjoy the refreshments, and relax while the formalities were handled.

Only one other couple was present, and the lounge was quiet and comfortable. We were offered coffee and could admire the Han River and Da Nang Bay while waiting. A staff member later brought the registration documents for us to sign, arranged the credit card deposit hold, and handed over our room keys.

We also received a letter outlining our ALL membership details and the benefits available during our stay. The team explained that we could have breakfast either at the lounge for a quieter experience or at The Square for a larger buffet selection.

It was a smooth, welcoming, and fuss-free check-in. We appreciated being able to settle in with a coffee instead of waiting at reception.

Novotel Danang Premier Han River Corner Suite Review

Living room of the Corner Suite at Novotel Danang Premier Han River, with sofa, television and balcony
The Corner Suite's separate living room, with a sofa, television and access to the balcony.

For our one-night stay, we were accommodated in a Corner Suite on the 27th floor, just two floors below the hotel's Club Lounge. According to the hotel's website, the Corner Suite measures 57 square metres, more than double the size of the 28-square-metre Superior Room we had originally booked.

Having previously stayed in the Executive Suite at Novotel Saigon Centre, we immediately noticed the design similarities. The interiors were understated and functional rather than luxurious, with familiar Novotel furnishings and a clean, well-maintained appearance.

Everything felt comfortable and thoughtfully arranged, with separate living and sleeping areas, a spacious bathroom, and two balconies offering beautiful views of Da Nang.

Living Room

Another perspective of the living area, looking towards the entrance and refreshment counter.

Upon entering the suite, we stepped into the living room, furnished with a comfortable sofa, an additional armchair, and a wall-mounted television. A proper workstation near the balcony also made the space practical for guests who might need to catch up on work during their stay.

A separate guest toilet was located immediately to the left of the entrance, which we appreciated as a practical addition to the suite.

The living room also opened onto a balcony overlooking Da Nang Bay. Unlike the narrower balcony attached to the bedroom, this one was furnished with two chairs, allowing guests to sit outside and enjoy the scenery.

Minibar, Coffee & Welcome Amenities

The minibar and coffee-making facilities were positioned along the wall near the suite's entrance. A Nespresso coffee machine was provided, together with two locally sourced coffee capsules. These included a stronger Arabica-Robusta blend from the Ta Lai region of southern Vietnam and a milder decaffeinated Arabica option. We appreciated this small touch, particularly the opportunity to enjoy coffee associated with Vietnamese producers.

The minibar refrigerator contained bottled Alba water, a basil seed drink, and canned beer, while a separate snack selection included Pringles and Loacker biscuits. These minibar refreshments and snacks were chargeable.

Complimentary drinking water was provided separately, with two glass bottles in the living room and another two in the bedroom. During the evening turndown service, housekeeping replenished the living room with two additional bottles.

We were also greeted with several welcome amenities arranged on the living room's coffee table. These included a small box containing two macarons, a plate of rambutans, and a selection of local sweet and savoury snacks. A printed welcome card and an Accor letter were also provided, acknowledging our membership status and outlining the benefits available during our stay.

Bedroom & Sleep Quality

The comfortable king bed, framed by an illuminated headboard.

The bedroom was located to the right of the suite's entrance, separated from the living area. Like the rest of the suite, the bedroom followed Novotel's familiar understated design. It was spacious, neat, and comfortable, with a television positioned opposite the bed and a small chair nearby.

Floor-to-ceiling glass doors opened towards the balcony, offering beautiful views of the Han River and the surrounding city. Even without stepping outside, we could enjoy the scenery directly from the bedroom. The wardrobe contained two bathrobes, two pairs of slippers, an iron, an ironing board, and a safe. The mattress, pillows, and bedding were clean and comfortable, while the air-conditioning kept the room pleasantly cool without becoming excessively cold.

Floor-to-ceiling corner windows make the bedroom feel particularly open and spacious.

We also experienced virtually no outside noise. Perhaps being on the 27th floor helped, but the room was remarkably peaceful throughout the night. Admittedly, we were tired after a day of exploring Da Nang, but we fell asleep almost immediately and enjoyed an excellent night's rest.

Bathroom

The bathroom features a double vanity with plenty of counter space.

The ensuite bathroom was another spacious and functional part of the Corner Suite. Its layout reminded us of the bathroom in the Executive Suite at Novotel Saigon Centre, with a large vanity counter, two sinks, and a wide mirror.

There was a separate bathtub and standing shower, while the toilet was enclosed behind its own door. The hotel provided Deep Nature Spa toiletries, consistent with what we have encountered at other Novotel properties.

We did not use the bathtub during our one-night stay.

Additional amenities included dental kits, a shaving kit, shower cap, vanity kit, and comb. The shower pressure was strong, and the hot water supply was consistent, with no difficulty adjusting the temperature. Although we didn't use the bathtub during our short stay, we appreciated having the option.

Balconies & Panoramic Views

Located on the 27th floor, the suite offered breathtaking panoramas of Da Nang Bay, the Han River, and the surrounding cityscape. The living room balcony faced Da Nang Bay and was spacious enough to accommodate two outdoor chairs. This made it a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the view.

Balcony seating in the Corner Suite at Novotel Danang Premier Han River, overlooking the Han River
The Corner Suite's furnished balcony offered sweeping views across the Han River.

The bedroom balcony, meanwhile, extended around the corner of the building. Although relatively narrow and better suited for standing rather than sitting, it offered views towards both Da Nang Bay and the Han River.

The corner position offered an impressive panoramic view of the city, which would be difficult to appreciate from a conventional room facing only one direction. We spent quite some time taking photographs from both balconies, including after returning to the hotel in the evening.

Our daytime view of the Han River and Da Nang skyline from the 27th floor.

During the day, the views were particularly impressive, with the city, river, bay, and distant mountains clearly visible. At night, the illuminated buildings and city lights offered a different but equally interesting perspective. We personally preferred the daytime scenery, although both were enjoyable.

What we appreciated most was that the bedroom's floor-to-ceiling glass allowed us to admire the views even while indoors. Stepping onto the balcony simply offered a more immersive experience.

Overall Corner Suite Experience

The Corner Suite was clean, quiet, comfortable, and generously sized. Its understated furnishings felt familiar from other Novotel stays, while the two balconies and panoramic views made it memorable. Combined with breakfast and Club Lounge access, it is a room category we would happily consider again.

Club Lounge Experience

One of the biggest benefits of staying in the Corner Suite at Novotel Danang Premier Han River is the complimentary access to the hotel's Club Lounge, located on the 29th floor. Having previously enjoyed the Club Lounge at Novotel Saigon Centre, we were pleased to discover that the lounge at Novotel Danang offered a similarly comfortable and relaxing environment.

Panoramic daytime view of the Han River, bridges and Da Nang city skyline from the Premier Lounge at Novotel Danang Premier Han River.
The Premier Lounge offers sweeping views of the Han River and Da Nang skyline from the 29th floor.

The lounge was spacious, with a simple yet elegant design that felt familiar. It wasn't particularly luxurious or extravagant, but everything was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.

During our afternoon visit, there was only one other couple present, making the lounge exceptionally peaceful. What made the space particularly attractive was its location. Situated near the corner of the building, the lounge offered beautiful views of both the Han River and Da Nang Bay, with the city skyline stretching out in front of us.

We could also catch a partial glimpse of the famous Dragon Bridge, although the Hilton and Courtyard by Marriott buildings obstructed part of the view. The dragon’s head was still partly visible from the lounge, although we did not watch the fire-breathing show from there. For us, the lounge was a lovely place to sit back, enjoy a coffee, and admire the scenery without the crowds or noise of a typical café.

Afternoon Tea & Refreshments

The Club Lounge offers an "Indulgent Afternoon Tea" daily from 12 pm to 5 pm. Rather than a full afternoon tea service with elaborate presentations, the offering consisted of a small self-service buffet with light refreshments.

During our visit, we saw fresh fruits such as grapes, bananas, and oranges, alongside several miniature cakes, including strawberry basil mousse, marble nut cake, and passion fruit cheesecake. There was also a selection of snacks in jars, including cookies, crackers, homemade sweet potato chips, spicy shredded chicken, and salted peanuts.

For drinks, guests could help themselves to bottled Alba still and sparkling water, canned soft drinks, coffee, and Dilmah tea. As usual, I opted for a black coffee and tried one of each of the miniature cakes. They were all decent and enjoyable, while my wife helped herself to some fresh fruit.

Nothing was particularly extraordinary, but the refreshments were more than adequate for a relaxing afternoon. Instead, it offered something that we genuinely appreciated: a quiet, comfortable place to unwind, read a book, enjoy a coffee, or simply admire the views. For travellers who enjoy spending time relaxing at their hotel, this could be a compelling reason to consider upgrading to a room with Club Lounge access.

Evening Cocktails & Canapés

In addition to afternoon tea, the Club Lounge offers a "Pre-Dinner Cocktail & Canapés" service daily from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. Unfortunately, we were unable to experience this offering, as we had arranged for a massage outside the hotel and did not return in time. As such, we cannot comment on the food or drinks served during the evening session. However, it is another benefit worth considering for guests who intend to spend more time at the hotel.

Is the Club Lounge Worth It?

For us, yes. The afternoon selection was simple, but the comfortable seating, unlimited refreshments, quiet atmosphere, and views made it a lovely place to unwind. The lounge also served breakfast, which we cover in the dining section below. Guests who spend most of their time sightseeing may value it less, but we genuinely enjoyed having this space available.

Facilities

Beyond its comfortable rooms and impressive views, Novotel Danang Premier Han River offers a good selection of facilities for both leisure and business travellers. During our stay, we visited the outdoor swimming pool and took a look at the gym. Although we didn't have time to use either facility, we were impressed by what we saw.

Outdoor Swimming Pool

The hotel's outdoor swimming pool is located on the fourth floor, beside its main restaurant, The Square.

We visited the pool after breakfast on our final morning and found it to be a pleasant space for guests looking to relax. The pool itself appeared adequately sized, with an infinity-style design that made particularly good use of the hotel's riverside location.

Along the sides facing the Han River and Da Nang Bay, the walkways were positioned slightly lower than the pool deck. This gave the pool area an open outlook towards the water. At the same time, the lower walkways had lounge chairs where guests could sit, relax, and take photographs of the surrounding scenery. Additional sun loungers and towels were available along the side of the pool facing the restaurant.

During our visit, several families were enjoying the swimming pool. It was lively enough to suggest that the facility was popular, but it didn't feel overly crowded. Although we didn't swim, we felt that it would be a lovely place to spend a relaxing morning or afternoon, particularly with the beautiful views of the Han River and Da Nang Bay.

Gym & Fitness Centre

The hotel's gym is located on the fifth floor and operates daily from 9 am to 10 pm. We stopped by to take a look, although we didn't enter the main workout area as several guests were exercising at the time. From what we could see, the gym appeared adequately sized and reasonably well-equipped. There were treadmills, various exercise machines, and a selection of dumbbells arranged on a proper weight rack.

The fifth-floor fitness centre is equipped with cardio and strength-training machines.

Like several other areas of the hotel, the gym also benefited from attractive views of the Han River and Da Nang Bay. While we cannot comment on the equipment's performance or the overall workout experience, the facilities appeared sufficient for guests who wish to maintain their exercise routines while travelling.

Spa & Kids' Club

Novotel Danang Premier Han River also has a spa located on the sixth floor, operating daily from 9 am to 9 pm. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to visit it, as we had already arranged for a massage at Maha Spa Signature elsewhere in Da Nang.

For families travelling with children, the hotel also offers a Kids' Club on the fifth floor, with listed operating hours from 7am to 10pm daily. We didn't visit the Kids' Club, so we cannot comment on its facilities or activities.

Nevertheless, these amenities add to the hotel's appeal, particularly for families and guests planning a longer stay.

Overall Facilities

We didn't use the pool, gym, spa, or Kids' Club, so our impressions are limited to what we saw. Nevertheless, the pool's riverside setting and the range of amenities looked very good for a city hotel at this price point.

Breakfast & Dining at Novotel Danang Premier Han River

Breakfast is often one of the highlights of our hotel stays, and Novotel Danang Premier Han River offers two options for guests with Club Lounge access: the main breakfast buffet at The Square on the fourth floor, or a quieter breakfast experience at the Club Lounge on the 29th floor. As breakfast was included with our Corner Suite, we could choose either venue.

For this stay, we decided to have breakfast at the Club Lounge. We were planning to visit a café later that day and didn't want to have an overly heavy breakfast. After finishing our meal, we also stopped by The Square to take a look at its breakfast selection.

Breakfast at the Club Lounge

The Club Lounge serves breakfast daily from 6.30 am to 10.30 am. When we arrived, the lounge was still relatively quiet, although there were slightly more guests than during our afternoon visit the previous day.

The staff greeted us warmly, confirmed our room number, and invited us to choose a table.

Breakfast with eggs, noodles, Vietnamese soup and coffee served beside a window overlooking the Han River at Novotel Danang Premier Lounge.
Our breakfast at the Premier Lounge, with panoramic views over the Han River and Da Nang skyline.

We settled into a corner table overlooking the Han River and Da Nang Bay. With clear skies and sunshine that morning, the views were particularly beautiful, stretching across the city towards the distant mountains.

Unlike the main restaurant, the Club Lounge offered a smaller buffet selection, supplemented by several cooked-to-order dishes. Shortly after we were seated, a staff member informed us that we could order either chicken phở or bún bò Huế, along with a selection of freshly prepared egg dishes. The egg options included omelettes with various fillings, scrambled eggs, sunny-side-up eggs, poached eggs, and Eggs Benedict.

The hot dishes included bacon, sausages, baked beans, hash browns, baked potatoes, fried rice, stir-fried noodles, vegetables, and several meat dishes. There was also a selection of cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruits, yoghurt, cereals, salads, and breads.

For pastries, we spotted croissants, almond croissants, pain au chocolat, muffins, Danish pastries, cinnamon doughnuts, and several other baked items. Drinks included juices, soy milk, tea, and coffee from the self-service machine. Vietnamese coffee was also available upon request.

For my breakfast, I opted for a fairly conventional Western selection, including eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, potatoes, bread, and cheese. My wife decided to try the bún bò Huế, together with some noodles from the buffet.

Overall, the food was decent and enjoyable rather than exceptional, with no significant complaints. The staff were also attentive, assisting with cooked-to-order dishes and clearing used plates promptly. With relatively few guests, comfortable seating, and panoramic views of the river and bay, we could enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace without the noise and activity of a busy breakfast restaurant.

Breakfast Buffet at The Square

After finishing breakfast, we headed down to the fourth floor to take a look at The Square, the hotel's main restaurant. The Square serves breakfast from 6 am to 10 am on weekdays, with extended hours until 11 am on weekends. Unlike the peaceful Club Lounge, The Square was noticeably busier when we arrived. There were quite a few guests having breakfast, although the staff appeared to be managing the crowd efficiently.

Compared with the Club Lounge, The Square offered a substantially larger buffet, with a particularly impressive mix of Western, Vietnamese, and other Asian dishes. One section featured Korean breakfast items, including kimbap, various condiments, and a bibimbap station where staff could help guests prepare their bowls.

There was also a Vietnamese noodle station serving chicken phở and bún bò Huế, alongside a bánh mì station and a variety of traditional local breakfast dishes. These included rice rolls, steamed rice cakes, sticky rice, steamed sweet potatoes, and other Vietnamese specialities. Another section offered porridge with a wide selection of accompaniments, including pork floss, pickled vegetables, eggs, peanuts, and other savoury toppings.

Western breakfast staples were equally well represented, with eggs prepared in different styles, sausages, bacon, pastries, pancakes, waffles, French toast, breads, cheeses, and cold cuts. We also noticed an extensive selection of fruits, salads, yoghurt, cereals, and beverages, including Vietnamese coffee, hot chocolate, and masala chai.

There were even a few items we don't commonly encounter at hotel breakfast buffets, such as butterfly-pea sticky rice and herb-seasoned quail eggs. Although we had already eaten, we spent some time walking around the buffet because the selection was genuinely impressive.

However, as we didn't actually eat at The Square, we cannot comment on the taste or quality of its breakfast offerings. Based purely on the variety we observed, though, it looked like an excellent option for guests who enjoy a substantial hotel breakfast.

Club Lounge vs The Square: Which Should You Choose?

Having experienced breakfast at the Club Lounge and inspected the buffet at The Square, we felt that both venues offered different advantages.

If you value a peaceful environment, attentive service, and beautiful views, we would recommend having breakfast at the Club Lounge. On the other hand, if you enjoy exploring a large breakfast buffet and trying different local dishes, The Square would probably be the better choice. For our short stay, we were happy with our decision to eat at the Club Lounge. However, having seen the selection downstairs, we would be keen to try The Square on a future visit.

Other Dining Options

Apart from breakfast, Novotel Danang Premier Han River offers several other dining and refreshment options. The Square is the hotel's main restaurant, while the Splash pool bar is located beside the fourth-floor swimming pool. We also noticed the Gourmet Bar on the ground floor, which offers drinks and light refreshments.

Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to dine at these outlets during our stay. We also missed the Club Lounge's evening cocktails and canapés, as we were out enjoying a massage elsewhere in Da Nang. As such, our assessment of the hotel's food and beverage offerings is based primarily on our Club Lounge breakfast experience and our observations of The Square's breakfast buffet.

Overall Breakfast Experience

We enjoyed the Club Lounge's peaceful setting and attentive service, even if the food itself was simply decent. The Square impressed us with its extensive buffet selection, though we didn't taste it. Having both options is a useful benefit for guests with lounge access, and we would be keen to try The Square on a future stay.

Service

One reason we continue choosing Novotel is its generally consistent service. At Novotel Danang Premier Han River, the staff were friendly, polite, and professional throughout our stay, without making the experience feel overly formal.

Flexibility With Our Booking

The hotel's most meaningful service gesture happened before arrival. Despite our original booking being non-refundable, the team agreed to apply the unused night's value towards a Corner Suite upgrade. As explained in Booking Our Stay, this allowed us to enjoy a better room instead of simply losing the value of the first night. We appreciated the flexibility, while recognising that it was a discretionary arrangement rather than a standard policy.

Staff Interactions

Our Club Lounge check-in was particularly pleasant, and the lounge attendants were welcoming during afternoon tea and breakfast. They offered assistance, prepared cooked-to-order dishes, and promptly cleared used plates. We also appreciated the straightforward explanation of the two breakfast venues. There were no elaborate gestures, but we didn't need any. Everything was handled efficiently and with a smile.

Late Check-Out & Luggage Storage

On departure day, we requested a late check-out. The hotel explained that its Corner Suites were fully occupied and could offer only a 30-minute extension, until 12.30 pm. That was perfectly reasonable to us, as late check-out depends on availability.

Checking out at the ground-floor reception was quick. The staff also helped us store our luggage so we could spend our remaining time in Da Nang without carrying our bags.

Overall, the service was exactly what we hoped for: reliable, approachable, and consistently professional.

Who Should Stay at Novotel Danang Premier Han River

We think Novotel Danang Premier Han River works particularly well for travellers who want a comfortable base in Da Nang's city centre.

  • Couples: The Corner Suite's views, separate living space, and quiet Club Lounge made our stay especially enjoyable.

  • Families: The pool and Kids' Club broaden the hotel's appeal, although we didn't use the children's facilities ourselves.

  • Business travellers: The central location, proper suite workstation, gym, and lounge are practical advantages.

  • First-time visitors: Dragon Bridge, cafés, and other city attractions were easy to reach using Xanh SM.

  • Guests who enjoy hotel downtime: The views, pool, and lounge make it pleasant to spend time at the property rather than only sleep there.

It is less suited to travellers who want direct beach access or those seeking a particularly fashionable, luxury-led hotel. Its strengths are comfort, convenience, and value rather than cutting-edge design.

Is Novotel Danang Premier Han River Good Value for Money?

Value for money is one of this hotel's strongest selling points. Our original Superior Room reservation worked out to approximately S$110 per night, excluding breakfast. For a riverside city hotel with a pool, gym, and consistently good service, we considered that attractive.

Was the Corner Suite Worth It?

Our Corner Suite was obtained through an unusual amendment to a non-refundable booking, so the VND 4,480,011 we ultimately spent should not be treated as its normal nightly price. The full details are in Booking Our Stay.

What matters more is whether we would choose the suite again at a regular rate. We would. The 57 m² layout, separate living and bedroom areas, two balconies, panoramic views, complimentary breakfast, and Club Lounge access made a meaningful difference to our stay.

Personally, we would be comfortable paying up to around S$250 per night during peak periods, assuming breakfast and lounge access were included. That's our own willingness to pay, not a quoted or guaranteed hotel rate. Actual prices and inclusions vary by date and booking package.

How Does It Compare With Other Da Nang Hotels?

We considered Hilton, Crowne Plaza, and other international city hotels before booking. Novotel ultimately offered the combination of familiarity, location, and price we wanted.

Having stayed here, we would find it difficult to justify paying substantially more elsewhere without a meaningful improvement in the room, facilities, or overall experience. That is a personal assessment, not a like-for-like price comparison across the hotels.

For travellers spending most of their time outside, a standard room may be sufficient. But if you enjoy relaxing at your hotel, the Corner Suite is worth considering when the price difference is reasonable.

Pros and Cons

What We Liked

  • Excellent location: A convenient riverside base, with nearby cafés and short rides to the airport and city attractions.

  • Panoramic views: The Corner Suite's two balconies offered beautiful perspectives of the Han River and Da Nang Bay.

  • Comfortable, spacious suite: Separate living and sleeping areas, a large bathroom, and a quiet night's rest.

  • Peaceful Club Lounge: A relaxing 29th-floor space with refreshments, breakfast, and impressive views.

  • Professional service: Smooth check-in, friendly staff, and welcome flexibility with our booking.

  • Strong value: Good facilities and a reliable hotel experience at an attractive price point.

Things to Consider

  • Conventional, slightly dated interiors: The design lacks the freshness of some newer hotels, although everything we saw was clean and well-maintained.

  • Limited appeal for beach-focused holidays: This is a riverside city hotel, so guests wanting direct beach access will need to look elsewhere.

Neither point detracted significantly from our stay, but both are worth knowing before booking.

Final Verdict: Is Novotel Danang Premier Han River Worth Staying At?

Absolutely. We would happily stay at Novotel Danang Premier Han River again.

For our short Da Nang city break, the location worked exceptionally well. We were close to cafés and attractions, airport transfers were quick, and getting around by Xanh SM was easy. Our Corner Suite was spacious, comfortable, and quiet, with two balconies offering some of the best views of the Han River and Da Nang Bay we enjoyed during the trip.

The 29th-floor Club Lounge was another highlight—not because its refreshments were elaborate, but because it offered a peaceful place to enjoy a coffee and admire the scenery. The pool looked inviting, The Square's breakfast buffet offered impressive variety, and the staff made every interaction straightforward and pleasant.

The interiors may feel somewhat dated compared with newer hotels, but everything was well-maintained, and we felt that Novotel Danang Premier Han River delivered where it mattered most: comfort, convenience, reliable service, and excellent value for money.

Would we stay here again? Absolutely. If we weren't constantly exploring new hotels for Straitstravellers, we would have little hesitation returning to Novotel Danang Premier Han River on our next visit to Da Nang.

Q6: Is breakfast included at Novotel Danang Premier Han River?

A6: It depends on the rate and room package. Our original Superior Room reservation excluded breakfast, but our eventual Corner Suite arrangement included it.

Q7: Club Lounge or The Square: Which is better for breakfast?

A7: Choose the Club Lounge for a quiet breakfast with panoramic views, or The Square for a much larger buffet. We ate at the lounge and inspected The Square afterwards, so we can assess the latter's selection but not its food quality.

Q8: Is the Corner Suite worth booking?

A8: We think so if you value extra space and views. Our 57 m² Corner Suite had separate living and sleeping areas, two balconies, a spacious bathroom, and included lounge and breakfast privileges. Whether it's worth the upgrade depends on the rate difference.

Q9: Is the hotel close to the beach?

A9: It's a riverside city hotel, not a beachfront resort. Travellers wanting direct beach access may prefer staying closer to My Khe Beach.
