We planned for a trip to Hanoi in September 2025 as Vietnam was celebrating its 80th National Day on 2 September 2025, and there would be a huge celebration in the capital. It was essential to book a hotel room early, and Hanoi was expecting plenty of domestic tourists catching the parade and celebrations.
We initially booked a room in a local hotel a few months back, and as our stay neared, we saw that many hotels started to show their “sold out” sign on Agoda and Booking.com. Due to an unforeseen circumstance, we had to cancel our trip and our hotel room. Thankfully, we managed to resolve the issue, and our trip was back on!
Unfortunately, the room was gone, and even more hotels started to sell out, and the remaining hotel rooms became extremely expensive due to the huge demand. Thankfully, I remembered reading about Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi previously! Before booking our initial hotel room, I had wanted to stay at this hotel because it was newly built and conveniently located right by the famous West Lake. However, I was vetoed as it was deemed to be too far from the Old Quarter, and my partner wanted to experience staying in a local hotel.
After doing a check on Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi, I was elated to find out that the hotel prices did not increase. Surprisingly, the prices remained stable at approximately S$100 a night. I quickly booked the Breakfast On Us: Member Stay Even Longer With Free Breakfast rate, the cheapest available, which also came with a 72-hour prior to arrival cancellation policy.
Interestingly, this is likely because the hotel is newly built, having opened its doors just a few months ago in 2025. In fact, the rooftop swimming pool opened just in time for our arrival. Of course, whether we managed to take a dip was another matter altogether. With the booking secured on 20 August 2025, less than two weeks from our arrival date in Hanoi, we cannot wait!
TL:DR
Fantastic service
Beautiful interior with great views of West Lake
New and beautiful rooms
Affordable hotel stay that comes with breakfast
Service:
Service was excellent throughout our stay at Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi. We were warmly welcomed when we first arrived, with the staff getting our luggage and leading us to the check-in counters. Everything was completed smoothly, and the staff took the time to explain what we could look forward to, including the discounts we could enjoy at the hotel’s restaurants.
Housekeeping was another delight here. Due to our erratic lifestyles, we usually woke up later than most, skipping breakfast altogether. Because of that, we will always put the “Do Not Disturb” sign before we sleep at night. By the time we left the hotel, it was usually 12 pm or so. We will then put the “Please Make Up Room” sign. Each time we arrived back at the hotel, it was always cleaned up to perfection. Now, we know this is to be expected, but we have stayed in hotels where they sometimes only do one round of housekeeping. If your room happened to be under the “Do Not Disturb” sign, good luck with that.
Case in point, we woke up extremely early one morning to catch the parade during Vietnam’s 80th National Day, on 2 September 2025. We left the hotel before 6 am and returned around 9.30 am. To our amazement, our hotel room was cleaned! We managed to wash up before heading back down for our breakfast buffet. Very impressive!
Checking out was a breeze as well, with everything completed within minutes. Like most travellers, we dropped off our luggage at the hotel to tour around the city a final time before heading to the airport. After returning to the hotel a final time, we relaxed in the hotel lounge while awaiting our delivery. We ordered a small carton of fruits to bring back home, and the delivery arrived while we were enjoying a little snack at the cafe.
The hotel staff helped to collect it and kept it for safekeeping while we continued our afternoon tea break. After that was done, we collected our luggage and were going to take the carton of fruits as well, but the staff said they would hold it until our taxi arrived, and they would help carry it to the taxi. We enjoyed extremely great service at Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi and loved every second we spent here!
Hotel Facilities:

Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi offers the standard five-star hotel facilities for guests to enjoy. They have a rooftop swimming pool on the 9th floor, while a huge gym is located on the basement floor.
The swimming pool was newly opened when we checked in and looks perfect. It has the million-dollar view of West Lake, and you can catch the sights of the Hanoian skyline while soaking in the pool. You will also realise just how close Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi is to the hotel, which is only the largest premium shopping mall in Vietnam. It also houses L7 by Lotte West Lake Hanoi, a hotel run by Lotte. For sure, we will need to book a stay there soon.
Besides the pool, the gym in the basement is something to marvel at. It is very spacious and, with most new hotels, comes with brand-new equipment. The gym is quite huge and we can see gym users enjoying themselves without feeling claustrophobic. Of course, being located in the basement means there are no outside views. But you should be focusing on your workout anyway.
One of the unique features of Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi is the availability of an onsen. Located within the grounds of the gym, it is open between 7 am and 10 pm, with a break time between 2.30 pm and 3 pm. For those who might be worried, fret not. Ladies have exclusive use of the onsen between 7 am and 2.30 pm daily, while gentlemen have exclusive use of the onsen between 3 pm and 10 pm. Priced from VND 500,000++ (weekdays) to VND 600,000++ (weekends), this sounds like a great deal!
Food:
Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi currently has three restaurants, with two more set to launch soon. Vinci Italian Restaurant and Rooftop Bar and the Pool Bar are currently works in progress, and should open soon.
For the current offerings, guests can look forward to Soi, the hotel’s main restaurant, which is also where you head to for the daily breakfast buffet. Besides the main restaurant, you can also head to Palais Lounge for some drinks while you wind down for the night, or head to Dusit Gourmet for an afternoon snack and coffee break.
During our time there, we headed to Soi for our breakfast buffet while we had coffee and a pastry at Dusit Gourmet while waiting for the cab to the airport after checking out.
Soi (buffet breakfast):
Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi serves its daily buffet breakfast at Soi, its main restaurant. Soi offers an international range of breakfast options, from the standard Western ones to more localised options that everyone loves.
When you first walk into the restaurant, you are greeted by fresh and warm pastries, with an assortment of croissants, danishes, pancakes, and bread. It is every flour lover’s dream, and I was living it. As it was during Vietnam’s National Day period, they had special red croissants with a yellow star on them. Very cute.
Yoghurts, muesli, milk, and their related condiments can be found on the other side of the table, and should please health-conscious guests. I enjoyed the oat yoghurt a lot, thank you very much.
The hot food items were quite plentiful. Displayed in front are the standard Western options, including baked beans, bacon, hash browns, sausages, and tomatoes. No prizes for guessing what I went with, as it was my version of comfort food. On either side are Vietnamese food options, with everyone’s favourite bánh mì being served, as well as Bún Thang, a Vietnamese noodle soup dish, made to order. Simply inform the staff you would like one, and they will whip it up in no time. We each had the Bún Thang, and it was delicious. Even though I took one with the original intention to share, I finished it. In my defence, it was a small bowl!
There is a live egg station making your favourite dish, also cooked-to-order. I had the sunny side-ups, as usual, and the chef got to work immediately. After a short while, a perfect set was served. Fantastic.

More hot food options could be found, with the usual Asian carb options, like stir-fried noodles and fried rice. These were very popular and in high demand. Fried fish in teriyaki sauce, sauteed broccoli, and stewed beef were also available.
The cold food options included a DIY salad station, along with various sides and dressings available. There was also an assortment of cheeses and cold cuts, and three types of cured salmon. I had the beetroot-cured salmon, and it was delicious. There were also fresh fruits on offer, and travellers should love the tropical fruits served, including rambutans, pineapples, and logans. Otherwise, enjoy some cut watermelon to quench your thirst.
They had a few types of fruit juices available, including apple, orange, pineapple, and guava. Those preferring caffeine can order from one of the servers. The nearby Palais Lounge will make your coffee or tea, and the server will serve it to you.
In the end, I had a mostly Western breakfast while my partner enjoyed a little bit of everything. I am always satisfied with a typical English/American breakfast, and this was no different. I had the oats as well, which should please my body. My partner convinced me to try the Bún Thang, and it was excellent. Cooked-to-order, make sure you grab a bowl!

Overall, it was a very satisfying breakfast. The food options were pleasing to us, and we enjoyed all that they had to offer. We loved the restaurant’s decor as well, and it felt very private and peaceful. As breakfast was until 10.30 am, a server came up to let us know at around 10.25 am, and encouraged us to grab more food if we could. Unfortunately, we were already too full from all the delicious food. Even though breakfast service had ended by then, no one chased us or made us feel unwelcome as we relaxed and continued eating our food until 11 am. It was an enjoyable morning that day.
Dusit Gourmet:
Dusit Gourmet is the hotel’s cafe, so to speak, where guests can enjoy snacks, pastries, as well as proper meals, at any time of the day.
Besides the pastries and cakes on offer, guests can also enjoy their signature pho, which, during our stay, was offered at an extremely reasonable price of VND 115,000. Unfortunately, I was vetoed from enjoying that bowl. Nevertheless, we managed to enjoy a nice pastry with some coffee on the day of our departure. We enjoyed the lovely, quiet ambience the cafe provided, and we could relax while waiting for the right time to take the taxi to the airport.

If you fancy, Dusit Gourmet also sells their coffee beans and gift packs. Traditional sticky rice cakes and coconut green rice cakes were on sale, and you could purchase them as gift packs for your friends and families back home. Or you could grab a bag of coffee beans for your daily caffeine needs.
Palais Lounge is Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi’s lounge, as its name suggests. Guests can head here for a drink and wind down, and that was precisely what we saw at different times of the day. On the day of our departure, it was surprisingly crowded in the afternoon, so we decided to head over to Dusit Gourmet instead. We thought it was a good choice considering our preference for quietness. If you need a drink, you can always order at Dusit Gourmet as well, and they will serve it to you there. However, if you enjoy some drinks and like the lounge’s ambience, definitely grab a seat at Palais Lounge!
Room:
We booked the Superior Room for our 5-night stay in Hanoi, which came with approximately 30 square metres of space. It is the entry-level room, and we were blessed to have been accorded a room on a high floor. We were located on level 7, with the highest floor for rooms on the 8th.

The open-concept wardrobe is to the side of the room when you first enter, and has plenty of space to store your clothes. The safe is on a shelf by the wardrobe, and you can also find your bathroom slippers and a weighing scale there. An umbrella and two sets of bathrobes are provided, so you can head up to the swimming pool all ready to take a dip, while the umbrella will prove helpful in Hanoi’s sometimes unpredictable weather. There is an area to store one luggage, although you might need to put your second luggage on the floor.
There is a small pantry area where you can find your bottled water, caffeine options and a tap for your drinking needs. A kettle is provided, allowing you to easily boil water for your hot drinks. A minibar is located in the cabinet, but it was empty during our stay. Caffeine comes in the form of G7 coffee sachets and Dilmah teabags. If you have not visited Vietnam before, definitely try their G7 coffee. It is one of Vietnam’s most popular instant coffee brands, and millions of Vietnamese drink G7 every day!
The bathroom is on the other side of the room by the entrance, and it felt very spacious. Upon entering the bathroom, a standing shower is on one side while the toilet is on the other side. Grohe supplies the toilet, which comes with a high-tech bidet. The remote control is mounted to the wall, and you can select from the various options available for your needs. Toilet paper is still provided for conventional users.
The standard toiletries, including dental kits, cotton buds, cotton pads, shower caps, and sanitary bags, are provided. At Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi, we were happy to find out that they use Malin+Goetz for the personal care products. We enjoyed every shower we took at this hotel, as we used their shampoo and body wash. Some hotels we stayed in use this brand, and it always ensured a fantastic shower each time. The standing shower comes with a rainforest shower with two options, so you can basically select the strength you want. The shower system in the room comes with simple buttons and a knob to choose your water temperature. It is simple to use, and you can put your spectacles on top of it while you shower. I love rainforest showers, so I always choose that option whenever I can. The strength of the rainforest shower was powerful, and even when I selected only the weaker option, it was still strong enough to wash off the shower gel. When I selected both rainforest shower options, it was incredibly strong, and it was just fantastic.
The King-sized bed sits in the middle of the room with plenty of space to walk to the windows. The television is mounted on the wall, so there is a lot of space to move about. A table is located by the window, so that is your workstation area, if you need it. The wall sockets are also by the table, so you can charge your laptop while working away. Two chairs are provided, so you can use one when working, while your partner stares at you from the other chair. The room’s switches are located on either side of the bed, so either person can choose to turn off all the lights before sleeping. Each side also comes with a wall socket, as well as both a USB-A and USB-C charging point. This is the great thing about new hotels, as they are usually prepared for the latest technology. The lighting switches come with a few options, so you can either choose to “Relax” or have all the lights turned on. We like a place to be bright, so the master switch was always our choice. If your partner sleeps early, you can also select the “bedside lamp” so as not to disturb her. One nice touch is the “Night Light”, as it came in handy during midnight trips to the bathroom. We used it more than once when we needed to head to the bathroom after drinking too much water earlier during the evening!
From our room, we had a gorgeous view of Nhật Tân Bridge, also known as Vietnam-Japan Friendship Bridge, which is a familiar sight for most travellers to Hanoi. It connects the city to Noi Bai Airport, and almost everyone, if not all, will travel on this bridge to head to the city centre. It is incredible to think that the bridge officially opened only in 2015, when previously, travellers had to use another bridge further out to reach the city centre. Now, it has become an icon of Hanoi, with its five spans symbolising the five ancient gates of Hanoi. Towards the other side, we could also see the Vietnam National Exposition Center, which is the latest addition to Hanoi. Only completed in August 2025, it is yet another modern beauty built in Vietnam’s capital. The first exhibition to be held there was a government-organised one celebrating the nation’s 80th birthday, which was perfect as we were also in Hanoi to celebrate this fantastic event.
During our stay, it coincided with Vietnam's 80th National Day, a significant event in the country. Everyone in the country was celebrating, and there were plenty of people travelling to major cities to join in the festivities. Hanoi, Vietnam's capital, welcomed many tourists, and numerous hotels made a significant effort to commemorate Vietnam's 80th birthday. Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi was no exception, and we were blessed to be able to be part of the activities. We joined a flag-raising ceremony that took place in the hotel lobby, where there were beautiful pictures of the country's soldiers displayed. Amazing!
Our hotel stay at Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi was nothing short of awesome. We enjoyed ourselves a lot, with such a nice, clean, and beautiful new room. The architecture of the hotel was amazing, and we loved the interiors as well. Well-situated in the West Lake region, it is close to a huge shopping mall, while a trip to the Old Quarter is only a 15-20 minute ride away. It is the perfect place to be in Hanoi without being in the middle of it all. For sure, this is fast becoming our favourite hotel in Hanoi, and we will definitely be repeat customers at this lovely hotel!
