COULEURS BY REHAHN: FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY
Picture
Couleurs by Réhahn is an art gallery by world-famous photographer Réhahn, who has travelled to over 35 countries and spent a huge amount of time capturing the emotions of his subjects. He has been based in Hoi An since 2011, and thus also spent a lot of effort in photographing keys aspects of Vietnam.

Among his current projects include his desire and determination to document all 54 recognised ethnic groups in Vietnam. From this project, an even more amazing thing is the discovery of an as yet unrecorded ethnic group called Thuy. Meaning water in Vietnamese, Thuy originally came from China and was a subgroup of the Water H’Mong. They immigrated to Vietnam and was given the name Thuy ever since. Such is the importance of Réhahn’s work that the art gallery represents a unique benefit of his work, and the general public is able to catch a glimpse of real Vietnam.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Réhahn opened two galleries, one of which is catered for Limited Edition Fine Art Photography. This is located at Hotel InterContinental Saigon. The space is fantastic to admire the different pictures, and you can really see the difference when you view a photo created on metallic paper. Regardless of whichever angle you choose to look at the picture, you get a very clear image that has a realistic 3D effect. No wonder, such limited edition prints come in only 2 sizes, and each size only has 15 copies worldwide. This also means that some photos are already out of stock, and can cost up to €12,000, depending on how many copies are left.

If limited edition fine art photography is not quite your thing (like us since we cannot afford them!), you should really head over to the Dong Khoi art gallery. Over here, you will also be able to find some limited edition pictures by
Réhahn. However, the stars of this art gallery lie in the more mass-produced prints of his work. This includes small and medium format prints, coffee table books, and postcards, for purchase. We went to both art galleries and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the staff, who shared with us interesting facts about the photos and precisely how amazing metallic paper is, that it really brings the picture to life.

If you are a fan of art, and really fine arts, be sure to head over to this gallery when you are in Ho Chi Minh City!
