Afternoon tea is always a fun experience and it was certainly so when we managed to have it at Park Hyatt Saigon.
At Park Hyatt Saigon, afternoon tea is an experience, and you get a different type depending on whether you head over during one of the weekdays or during weekends.
While the weekday afternoon tea set is meant for 2, the weekend afternoon tea set is a buffet that is nicely named “The Art of Afternoon Tea". This is a unique experience, where hotel chefs have created sweet treats that allow us to explore different artistic periods throughout time. During our visit, we were treated to the period of Impressionism, and you will see artworks by Vincent Van Gogh, Gustave Caillebotte, and Edgar Degas. If you have no idea who these famous artists were (probably with the exception of Vincent Van Gogh), like us, fret not. You will get to see some of their famous artworks and admire them, as you take some of the sweet treats inspired by these famous paintings.

The scones were properly good, while the savoury options can do no wrong. We especially liked the egg with asparagus, since we enjoy the simple pleasures in life (haha!). Their Vietnamese coffee was just perfect, while the Lotus tea was a great way to complete the meal.
If you fancy, you can actually top up your afternoon tea set to either include a glass of champagne (Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut, Yellow Label) or free flow sparkling wine (Chandon Sparkling Brut and Cosmopolitan cocktail). Your choice!

Something we really loved about this meal was the mandarin orange crêpe. Not part of the afternoon tea buffet, it was nevertheless situated alongside the other food options. The server got a slice for me when I requested for it, and it was truly one of the best decisions I made that day. It was really that good. It was not overly sweet, while the mandarin orange filling really made the crêpe stand out. It almost melts in your mouth and I must say, that the crêpe is really the cherry on top of the icing on the cake. Make sure you have it if you see it available!
The entire setting of the afternoon tea experience at Park Lounge, at Park Hyatt Saigon, is really nice and comfortable. It feels classy, while not being cavalier. Enjoy music by a two-piece band playing the piano and violin while having tea. Look at the beautiful décor, including the chandelier that makes you go “wow”. This is really a great stop to have afternoon tea when you are in Ho Chi Minh City!
